Spook Rooster06 June, 2016any chance we could get a more simple version of the servers' software? i have a folder full of things that don't work and seventh umbral will not load the lobby despite everything else working. i got slimDX and installed it, but i couldn't even find any trace of it, so i was unable to use some things. and with apache, i just couldn't even find what to download.

Kiisuke09 June, 2016A problem: the wiki setup guide says to load a bunch of .sql files that do not exist in that \sql\ folder. And the ones that are in there won't load due to a ton of errors.. Any solutions for that? But beyond that, thank you so much for making this project open source. Hopefully we'll see a huge amount of content added/fixed/whatever rather quickly.

Ioncannon10 June, 2016@Kiisuke, the db was split by another dev for easy importing, and no one updated the wiki. Just import all the sql files in the sql folder on the master branch.

Kiisuke10 June, 2016I figured but every time I try to import one it throws some errors but I can not seem to get HeidiSQL to tell me exactly -what- the errors are... but the tables aren't loading into the database.

Nina11 June, 2016Hi! I have set it up everything and could get into the game but I am having some issues in the game. I don't know if some of the issues I am having is normal or not due to not have being implement (like not being able to logout normally with the in-game "Exit Game" option). So I would like to ask if there is a place to report or discuss the issues beside Discord, hope you understand I don't use VOIP. Finally want to thank you for this project as I am a FFXIV Realm Reborn fan I always want to experience FFXIV v1.0. Keep the good work! ;)

draken15 June, 2016Thank you very much for posting this. I have been watching this blog for some months wishing I could get in on the action. I have added SQL files using HeidiSQL as instructed in the wiki. And I can use this database as a reference of what items I can add to inventory and places I can teleport. However, starting the game in Ul'Dah floods the chatlog with missing actor errors (its zone ID 192 I believe) and moments later crashes the game. From the other cities, I can walka round and teleport just fine, however, occasionally in the chatlog, there is an error for npcs that cannot load. And thats ok really. Its currently very fun to explore as I have been! I just dont know how to mount a chocobo, as I do not see a way to activate it. This would make the exploration just a little quicker :D Still, thanks so much for this project! It helps so much with the occasional nostalgia :D

Me06 July, 2016First of all, a huge thank you to everyone working on this project! I really can't begin to say how much it means to me. You are all absolutely brilliant!! Secondly, I've run into an issue I'm wondering if anyone can help me with. I'm getting stuck on the 'Now Loading' screen when attempting to log into a character for the first time. I've reloaded the map server countless times, started the whole setup tutorial over from scratch, commented out the getPlayTime bit to bypass opening tutorial... nothing seems to be working. There is audio (birds chirping when starting in Gridania) and if I move the cursor around, I can hear the clicks that occur when you highlight something. If I exit the game by using the close button, I can see my character in the forest for a split second before the window closes. I am able to change the background music through the map server command prompt, but I tried to warp to several different region IDs with no luck. The map server window is consistently stating that unknown command 0x133 is received. Ioncannon06 July, 2016@Me Bug in the opening scripts after building the actor instancing code probably. Remove all quests on your character (quest_scenario table iirc) and try reloading.

Me Again08 July, 2016Thanks so much for the response ion! I tried what you suggested several times and I'm afraid it was a no go for me. But I messed around and I think I've finally got it. In case anyone else experiences this problem, this is how I got around it: 1. close everything, navigate to (server source code location) > sql folder. 2. Open characters.sql in Notepad. Search for 'playtime' and change the default value to 1 instead of 0. Save and close. 3. Right-click characters in HeidiSQL and select drop; do the same with characters_quest_scenario. Load and execute the SQL files as you did before. Right-click ffxiv_server and refresh. 4. In VS, clean then build solution. 5. Restart all WAMP services. 6. Run lobby and map servers; log into 7U client. Create your character again and start the game. (You can just change an existing character's playtime, but I couldn't find a way to do this without my lobby server crashing. There's also probably better ways of fixing this issue in general, but I'm a noob. This method worked for me, so it's good enough! lol)

Stuck on this28 July, 2016I followed all the steps, step by step, 35 errors when compiling :( Wish there was a precompiled one we could download. I have a few questions: >>>Set up your compile environment/IDE to support compiling NET 4.0 How? >>>For each SQL file in the folder, load them up and execute the query. How? Can you help with those two questions? (or better yet have a link to zip or rar that has all this compiling stuff done or at least fully prepared?) I've been at this since yesterday and it is not working for me (tried on 2 different PCs) Thanks

1.0 Forever All My Heart20 October, 2016Thank you for this project. I hope this is legal. I'd love to join in. I miss 1.0-1.23 every day. Most of my reason for being died when it did. To everyone working on bringing back even a single server that let's us roam and re-live the magic I thank you with my entire existence. Nothing in my life so far has ever done to me what 1.0-1.23 has. And I'm not sure anything else can. 1.0-1.23 is it's own thing. And I find it beautiful for that. Always on your side 1.0. And if I ever learn to code I'll help bring you back. Rock on everyone! You're my heroes. All my aether to you.

Flo11 February, 2017Hi, First of all thanks for this effort and the time you put into this! I compiled your code on Linux using MonoDevelop which worked well so far execpt some minor issues like "copy" commands not working on unix and some upper/lower case filename issues between filesystem and project file. I set up the master branch first and ran into some problems: - In gridania and uldah the screen stays in loading screen as mentioned by "Me", I resolved the issue by commenting out the cut scene start in the player lua script. - Limsa crashed after a few seconds in game. - In gridania yda does not have the inital quest and when clicking her, a error shows up that no script could be found for her actor - in uldah the first npc has his quest marker, after clicking him the tutorial shows up how to open the main menu but never fades away when opening the menu or the quest log leaving my character stuck in this position. Are these known issues or did I miss something or should I just test it again under Windows? Is the master branch the most stable branch? I also tested the develop branch but here I got some more issues: missing server_retainer table and activeLinkShell field in characters table. After fixing at least the missing field it has exactly the same issues like the master branch.
